First span to go up on Milldale's SH1 crossing

The moment we have all been looking forward to has arrived. The first of the steel spans for the Milldale State Highway 1 Crossing, connecting Milldale with Millwater and Silverdale, will be lifted into place this weekend.
Here's a schedule of activities:

• Friday 24/11/23 - 450t crane arriving onsite (one of the largest mobile cranes in NZ)
• Saturday 25/11/23 - Traffic management starts with prefabricated steel girders arriving from Napier
• Sunday 26/11/23 - Traffic management – Northbound lane closed 9pm – 4am. Steel transoms installed on Milldale side
• Monday 27/11/23 - Traffic management – Northbound lane closed 9pm – 4am.  Install Steel transoms and bracing. 450t crane shifted to SB side.
• Tuesday 28/11/23 - Contingency
